It was a great day of  food exploring, shopping and marathon running to cap off a great weekend of celebrating. I went to Greenpoint today to watch some NYC Marathon runners and eat some red velvet doughnuts at Peter Pan Bakery. It was nice seeing everyone cheering for the runners. Greenpoint is right around the halfway point so they definitely appreciated the support. Although the doughnuts didn’t really taste like red velvet they were pretty good. We decided to walk off the sugar and caffeine with a little stroll over to Williamsburg where we did some browsing in the shops. I have my eye on the mini cast iron pans at Whisk. We ended the day with some delicious pizza at Fornino. We had the funghi misti which was mixed wild mushrooms, caciocavallo, mozzarella and white truffle oil. Yum! Below are the leftovers that were filling the G train with the scent of truffle oil.
