I served this drink at my book club meeting earlier this month. I was inspired by my friend’s fall brunch a couple of years ago. It’s so seasonal and festive and delish. Plus it’s good for crowds. If you have a crockpot it’s really great to serve it in that.

Spiked Hot Apple Cider

Ingredients:

1/2 gallon apple cider

1 1/2-2 cups rum

1 cup orange juice

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

pinch of ground nutmeg

Directions:

I put all of the ingredients into a crockpot turned it on to hot and then down to warm when it got hot enough. It took about 20 minutes.

To do it on the stove heat all ingredients until hot but not boiling.

Adjust spices to taste. Keep in mind that it tastes different hot and cold. Enjoy!
