Fall is in the air! Pretty soon all these great summery vegetables will be nothing but a memory and the heartier vegetables of fall will arrive. But for now we have these great veggies to deal with. Something I have never knowingly eaten let alone cooked before is  bitter melon. Can anyone help? I have no idea what to do with it.

This week’s share:
1 bunch Cilantro
1 bunch Scallions
1 bunch mixed beets (swapped for leeks)
1 head Bok Choy
1 bunch French Radishes
1 lb. Red Potatoes
1 pc. Summer Squash
1 lb. Tomatoes
1 Bitter Melon

 

I kept the radishes since I found a way to cook them that I like. I made a dish that was based on a Martha Stewart recipe with shrimp, radishes and pasta. Boy was it yummy!
