After a few weeks off, we are back to CSA season. The winter share is much more abundant because it only occurs every 3 weeks. The amount of vegetables we receive can be daunting. How could you possibly eat 10 pounds of carrots?! (Slowly but surely you can.) However Farmer Fred eased us into the season with the first pickup. I was glad to see there was not massive amounts of potatoes and squash. And we still get lettuce!

This week’s share:
3 lbs. Sweet Potatoes
2 lbs. Fingerling Potatoes
1 bunch Beets
1 head Napa Cabbage
1 head Broccoli
1 bunch mixed Carrots
1 head Orange Cauliflower
1 head White Cauliflower
1 head Green Boston Lettuce
3 heads Baby Bok Choy
1 bulb Kohlrabi
1 bunch Green Scallions
1 head Red Boston Lettuce
1 Daikon Radish
5 pcs. loose Garlic Cloves

Look at those great colors! The reddish skin of the sweet potatoes, all the different colored beets, the orange cauliflower and the various shades of carrots not to mention all the greens. You can tell just by looking that it’s going to be good. That orange cauliflower has 25 times more vitamin A than the white version next to it.
